Guest sentiment
A snapshot of what local diners frequently mention about this location.
"We enjoyed our lunch — we both had the pho with chicken (generous amounts of chicken) which was excellent. The service was friendly but for some reason it took ages for our order to be taken but when it finally was, our pho arrived quickly. My jasmine tea was disappointing. A sad teabag and it tasted of washing up liquid as though the cups hadn't been rinsed. Having said all of that, we would still visit again but I'd skip the jasmine tea."
"Me and my friends dined in for dinner last week. It was an acceptable experience, I would say. I’ll keep it as good food, not good authentic Vietnamese food. We had Signature Hue Soup (Bún bò Huế) and Saigon Hawker Pork-chop (Cơm tấm). I appreciate they had the thin noodle for the BBH, but the soup is more on the tomato hotpot soup side because there is no sense of lemongrass, shrimp paste, sate paste, which are signature for the OG BBH. The Hawker Pork-chop which is a rice dish, so much effort put into it Good portion, fluffy rice, tender meat, but I would prefer much less sweet fish sauce. The welcoming is not much friendly, because we entered at 5pm. It seemed like it was the shift change, so the staff rushed to leave and didnt pay much attention. And we really struggled to get other staffs’ attention to take our order and get the bills. They were all very friendly but they were not really attentive. The seating is comfortable. I dont know why the playlist was quite chill, even like lullabies. I think we can totally find a chill and easy Vietnamese playlist, so people can immerse in the Viet culture. Because the decorating is pretty though. 09/02/2026"
"Excellent food, friendly prompt service. Restaurant is open plan and not especially intimate but more about a shared atmosphere of enjoyment. We had the specialty noodle soup dish and a chicken and ginger rice dish, plus an excellent chicken wing starter. Very enjoyable."
"We decided to eat here for lunch after seeing the reviews for Sen Viet Quan. When we arrived, we managed to get the last available table, while people behind us were asked to return later. This was on a Monday, and the restaurant was pretty much full between 12pm and 2pm and then quietened down after that. They offer an extensive menu and we ordered prawn crackers, a classic beef Pho, a prawn & mango salad, and salt & pepper prawns. The service was a little slow, but this reflected the fact that the place was full, and plenty of dishes were coming out of the kitchen at regular intervals. The prawn crackers were crispy, but my one comment would be that the dipping sauce was very small relative to the number of crackers. My Pho was a hearty size, and the beef was tender. Spice wise, it was about right for my palate, although for those preferring a hotter experience there were plenty of condiments, like chill oil and paste, that were available on the table. The prawn & mango salad was spicy, but not overly so, and was full of authentic Vietnamese flavours. The salt and pepper prawns were a little overcooked, but nevertheless added nicely to our other selections. Prices here were very reasonable, and we shall be coming back for lunch here at a future date."
"The classic spicy bun noodle (bun boe hue) is legit here!! Super delicious. Starters and sauce pairings is definitely England-ised. The salt pepper tofu flavour was good but tofu texture too dry. Overall lunch value good deal and delicious. But really bad service dinner time / sitting upstairs"
"We visited this Vietnamese restaurant in Guildford for a weekend date night, and it was our first time trying Vietnamese food. The restaurant itself is very cozy, spread across two floors, and we had a comfortable table upstairs. The staff were incredibly welcoming, helpful, and accommodating – it really added to the experience. The food was absolutely delicious! We especially loved the vegetarian spring rolls – the dough was perfect, and the filling was so tasty that we were genuinely impressed. We shared three dishes in total, and everything we tried was full of flavor. The beer was great too. Prices are very reasonable, and the atmosphere makes it family-friendly as well as perfect for a date night. Overall, a wonderful experience – highly recommend this place. 10/10, amazing food and fantastic service!"
"I popped in here for lunch. It seems to be a nice family-run place and service was friendly and knowledgeable I started with rice rolls with roast pork. Reminiscent of Chinese cheung fun, they were a lovely sticky starter I was tad greedy and went for king pho, which arrived in a giant bowl complete with beef, chicken and meatballs. The soup was full of depth but not medicinal Lots more to explore on the menu. The chicken wings on another table looked yummy"
